Montana Disaster Kleenup was called, after hours, on Saturday January 25, 2010 for a large amount of water leaking out of a fire sprinkler at a nearby hotel laundry room. The water was quickly making its way throughout the main level of the building, filling the laundry room floor and moving through doorways into neighboring rooms, closets, staff offices and hotel corridors.
While the fire suppression system was being shut off, Montana Disaster Kleenup began by containing the leaking sprinkler, and then extracting the water from the floors. Furniture and appliances were maneuvered and drying equipment placed to properly dry the structure. Montana Disaster Kleenup was able to dry wet walls by removing baseboards and drilling hundreds of small holes in the lower wall. This allowed for air movement inside the wall for quick drying and no demolition of drywall.
Once dry, the holes where filled and then covered up by resetting the baseboards. Due to the water loss, several wood bed frames were damaged beyond repair. Montana Disaster Kleenup's staff of carpenters was able to replicate the boxes as well as the finish and have them installed just as the carpet was dry. This allowed for quick repair to the hotel, and little disruption to the hotel staff and their guests.
